Research: Exploring How Naturally-Occurring Mentorships Emerge within a Mexican Cultural Context

My dissertation focused on exploring the factors that contributed to the development of natural mentoring relationships. My research continues to explore the process by which these relationships develop.

My doctoral research examined how and why natural mentorships emerge and the internal and external factors that impact the relationships throughout their development.

Student Representative (2021-2023), Society for Community Research and Action

I was elected to serve as one of the two Student Representatives for the Society for Community Research and Action / Division 27 of the American Psychological Association. Chapter Advisor, Lambda Kappa-Beta Chapter of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity (Case Western Reserve University)

I served in several advising roles for a fraternity at Case Western Reserve University. I began advising with this chapter in Fall 2016 as the Scholarship / Faculty Advisor, serving through April 2021 when I left my position at the university. After that, I supported Communications, Member Education, Finance, and Risk Management.

Chair and Past Chair, Volunteer Committee, Cleveland Asian Festival

I served on the Volunteer Committee since January 2016 and in leadership roles on the committee for the last 5.5 years. When I moved to Seattle, I am served as Chair for the 2022 Cleveland Asian Festival and Past Chair for the 2023 Cleveland Asian Fesitval.

Volunteer Coordinator, One World Day, Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation

For the 2021 and 2022 One World Days, I was contracted by the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation to manage the volunteer program. This effort entailed leading a committee, recruiting, training, and managing volunteers, and facilitating a volunteer appreciation event. Additionally, I collaborated with the other coordinators on the Planning Committee for overall event development and implementation.  

2021 Biennial Volunteer Coordinator, Society for Community Research and Action

In summer 2021, I was contracted by the Society for Community Research and Action to manage the volunteer program for the first virtual biennial conference. In this role, I recruited, trained, and managed both volunteer and contracted Room Monitors for each of the conference sessions.
