Community Psychologist
June 19, 2018 - Rizal Park, Manila, Philippines
Welcome to my personal site where you can learn a little bit more about me and my projects. My name is Aaron S. Baker Cervantes, and recently, completed the Community Psychology PhD program at National Louis University advised by Dr. Tiffeny Jiménez.
My interest in Community Psychology stems from my experience working in student affairs in higher education, primarily in residence life and student success advising, where I observed systems and structures that placed too much emphasis on fixing individuals without considering the role of the community and environment. Broadly, my goal is to help increase quality of life, sense of thriving, and effective management of life transitions among adolescents and emerging adults with the eventual goal of improved well-being now and later in life. Currently, I am interested in how adolescents and emerging adults recruit and engage their system of support, especially as they navigate dynamic life transitions. My doctoral research focused on understanding how and why natural mentoring relationships emerge between adolescents and emerging adults and their teachers. If you'd like to connect, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Aaron S. Baker Cervantes
